June 2021
Dear SENA Brothers and Sisters,
First, I would like to thank you all for your continued support of me as your President.
Next, on behalf of our Executive Board and its Officers and Stewards, I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to the membership to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer and to insure you that our Officers and Stewards will continue their outstanding work for this union during the summer months.
Our current contract has expired as of September 30, 2020 and unfortunately at this time, the city has not reached out to continue our sessions. However, I assure you our team of negotiators are ready willing and able to meet with the city at any time.
While we are aware that the current contract for our Brothers and Sisters at the Boston Public Health Commission has a full year before it expires, I want to assure you that we will be ready to negotiate when the time comes and for those members I have included a survey for them to complete and return to the union office or to their steward as soon as possible. Our Officers and Stewards, will continue to fight the everyday battles to maintain your benefits and to protect your rights. In these uncertain times we need to stand together as one united force.
Therefore, it is my sincere belief that our local will continue to grow in strength and numbers. SENA currently has 100% membership and we are very proud to be able to make that statement.
Please check our website SENA9158.COM or our Facebook Page for updates and information over the summer and please remember there are no membership meetings in July and August. Meetings will resume on September 14th, 2021
In Solidarity,
Joseph Smith
President SENA 9158
