The Officers & Stewards are being inundated with requests for relief by members for assistance transitioning back to  full time return to work,  per C.O.B. directives.  A multitude of reasons and  justifications are being offered. Many of the requests are citing Childcare as the reason for the need for a relief of full time return to work.   Unfortunately  if a request is because of childcare the employee would not qualify for a reasonable accommodation under the A.D.A. rules In those cases OHR is referring the employee to their union representative.  S.E.N.A. 9158 clearly  cannot change this policy or A.D.A. rules in any way. However if the request is made because of the employee’s own medical/health condition the department and OHR will engage in the interactive process required by the A.D.A.
